St Martin/St Maarten

St Martin/ St Maarten is a small island situated at the top of the Caribbean chain  that form the Leeward and Windward Islands and is where you turn West to continue for the Virgin Islands.

Divided in two is shared by the Dutch and the French the island is duty-free where you can load up with alcohol, wine and beer for the next 12 months (a bit of food too).

Nothing of interest in St Martin apart of a display of Mega yachts loaded with bottled blond wives, mistresses waving like royals to the crowds as the pass through a narrow bridge to the stables in a wave free lagoon. This daily event seems to be an attraction where people will clap as the yacht squeeze through with inches to spare.

Cruise ships that look more like live cattle transporters arrive and leave every day filling the shops and restaurants with mediocre food and service.
