Guadaloupe

Guadeloupe was discovered by Columbus in 1492 but the Arawak’s inhabited the island before they were killed and eaten by the Caribs (almost as bad as the inquisition).  The Spaniards did not want the island so the French came, killed the Caribs and took possession. After, the British came and won the island from the French and over the next 200 years the ownership went back and forth as they fought between themselves in this region. Today, is a department of France and Euros flow from Europe to keep the residents on a good standard of living while they enjoy the Caribbean lifestyle of drinking rum and smoking herbs.
