The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

The Good

The mechanic that fixed my engine. A profesional man that unfortunately was manipulated by the agent. He will be better of on the long run to keep away from The Bad  because as the old saying ” IF YOU SLEEP WITH A DOG WITH FLEAS……………..”

The Bad

His name is Chatura … and if there is a reward for an obnoxious weed, Oxygen thief, a true INDIAN and a GMF he would be the best candidate for it.

He is a first class liar that claimed to have all of the port authorities under his payroll hence all his outrageous charges without other justifications. His claims of corruption amongst the Port authorities are obscene at the least and feel for the honest ones that I know they are.

This man, protected by the absurdity of the requirement of having an agent to fill pieces of papers is using the system to line his pockets and give the country a bad name. He did make my time in Sri Lanka the most unpleasant experienced I had for along time.

I do know as a matter of fact that he does pay certain people amongst the Port officials either with cash or and gifts.

It was very unfortunate that I was stuck with this creature by the good effort of BWR and the poor assessment of the service providers all along since Darwin and starting in Indonesia.

They also have a case to answer for that among others things

I paid this arsehole’s bills under duress because to fight him trough the legal system would be a bigger nightmare.

There are very few countries in the world left where you are forced to use a clearance agent for a pleasure vessel, Sri Lanka being one of them that allows people without morals to exploit the unwary sailor.

A quick browse of this bill tells the whole story.
